The Growth Planner is a redesigned advisor engagement tool that allows you to build customized value-building learning plans for your contacts. You can create flexible plans using modules aligned with the eight key drivers of company value or add your own custom content, including: videos, links, pages, and more.
Key Capabilities
- Create a Growth Plan directly from a Contact Profile under Learning Plans.
- Build a plan from scratch and add modules aligned to the Value Builder methodology.
- Add your own custom content to a learning plan in addition to the 8 driver modules.
- Reorder steps and assign due dates.
- Send the customized plan directly to your contact.
- Contacts access the plan through the standard Value Builder login experience.
How to Create a Growth Plan
- Navigate to a Contact Profile.
- Select the Learning Plans tab.
- Click Create Growth Plan.
- Select Start from Scratch.
- Add Value Builder modules aligned to the eight key drivers.
- Arrange the modules in the desired order and assign due dates.
- Send the Growth Plan to your contact.
Add Custom Content to a Growth Plan (Early Access)

Adding custom content to Growth Plans is currently part of an Early Access experience and is available only to select advisors. Functionality and available step types may change as enhancements are made.
In addition to Value Builder modules, you can enhance a Growth Plan by adding your own custom content steps. This allows you to personalize the learning journey and include resources specific to your advisory process.
Custom content steps can be used to share supporting materials, assign tasks, provide instructions, or guide contacts through your own proprietary frameworks alongside Value Builder modules.
How to Add Custom Content
- Open an existing Growth Plan or create a new one.
- Click Add Step.
- Select a Custom Step type.
- Upload or enter your content.
- Save the step.
- Reorder the step within the plan as needed and assign an optional due date.
Available Custom Step Types
You can add the following types of custom content:
Page —
Create a page-style document that contacts can read directly within the platform. Ideal for written instructions, checklists, or structured exercises.
File —
Upload a downloadable file such as worksheets, templates, PDFs, or supporting materials.
Link —
Direct contacts to an external webpage, scheduling link, or online resource.
Image —
Upload diagrams, models, charts, or visual reference materials.
Video —
Upload recorded guidance, walkthroughs, or educational videos to support learning.
When to Use Custom Content
Custom steps are especially useful when you want to:
- Add your own proprietary tools or worksheets
- Provide step-by-step instructions tailored to your advisory approach
- Assign homework or implementation tasks
- Share videos or supporting resources between Value Builder modules
- Customize the Growth Plan to match your client engagement process
What the Contact Experiences
Once sent, the contact receives an email invitation to their personalized Growth Plan. They log in to the Value Builder platform and complete assigned modules and any custom steps you've included, such as videos, documents, or guided instructions designed to support their progress in building company value.
