A Temporary Failure status means that delivery to the contact’s/recipient's email had an unexpected issue or soft fail and our system will attempt to send again later.
This status will appear if the original email sent to the contact was rejected by their server or could not be
delivered upon the first attempt. Temporary failure status will only appear when using The Value Builder System server and not for custom SMTP. For custom SMTP, you may receive an error email from your respective email server (Outlook, Gmail, etc.) if an email has bounced or if the email address is invalid.
A soft bounce means that the email address was valid and the email
message reached the recipient's mail server. It may have bounced back due to:
• The mailbox being full (the user is over their quota).
• The server was down temporarily or offline.
• The message was too large for the recipient's inbox.
Please note, the status will not change until the next Nurture Cycle email is sent successfully as our system places status on a contact upon the first send attempt.
