When an owner completes the Value Builder Score, we ask them if they have received a written offer to buy their business. If they indicate that they have, we ask them to estimate the multiple of pre-tax profit the offer represented.
This information allows us to perform meta analysis on the self reported data, but does not inform our Estimate of Value algorithm. The raw dataset we leverage for our Estimate of Value comes from DealStats (formerly Pratt's Stats).
